Reality Show Casting Calls - Tips and Advice

Okay, so you have made the decision to go to the casting for a Reality Show. Either your friends convinced you to go the audition, or maybe your family coerced you that you would be perfect for a reality show audition. Or maybe you have just decided on your own that it's something you want to do. It doesn't matter why you decided that you wanted to audition for your favorite tv show. The great thing is you are going to give the audition a go.

But what now? What should you expect? What should you wear? What should you do?
Make sure to read ALL of the reality show casting call information, and any other casting advertisements for the show. Do a little research about the show, and what the show producers wish to create with this show. Get an idea of what it is all about, but try not to form an opinion.

Getting an idea about the reality show you wish to audition for prepares you and takes away some nervousness of the unknown. This is a good thing! But if you start to form opinions of what it's going to be like, and what's going to happen at your open casting call, and how you have to act, you are limiting yourself. Limiting yourself is not so good. Be open to the possibility for everything to be completely different. Show business really loves surprises! Remember this is entertainment and they are always looking to be new and different. Be prepared to do anything and have fun with that potential, go to the reality show casting call to enjoy the casting.

Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the casting call. Plan to be 30 minutes early to your audition. You don't want to be late. Being late causes stress and you may miss out altogether. Have a bottle of water and some small high energy snacks. You may be there for awhile. Also with excitement, stress, and anticipation of your audition, you can get fatigued easily because you burn up carbohydrates quicker.

Now remember to be your self. Don't try and be something or someone else that you are not. You may think this makes you stand out, but, it's not what the reality show casting call directors are looking for. Even if you did get by the first open casting call by being something you are not, that will soon become apparent and this could ruin future opportunities. Good luck with your casting call, and break a leg!
