Halloween Costumes From 3D Movies

Thanks to a prolific crop of 3D movies, it was an eye-popping year at the cinemas during 2010. No less than 20 motion pictures were released in 3D, from the good to the bad - make that from James Cameron's epic Avatar to Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. Many of the flicks introduced us to characters that will be popular for Halloween costumes in 2011. Literally, you can make one of these 3D movie characters three-dimensional by becoming the in-the-flesh version. Here are some of the top movies to inspire your next Halloween costume:

Avatar: This is the film that started the craze with its amazing three dimensional alien vistas and action packed scenes. Dressing as one of the indigenous blue cat-like creatures from the moon Pandora would be an amazing choice. Women's costumes are available for Neytiri and men's costumes are available for the avatar of paraplegic Jake Sulley.

Toy Story 3: This sequel to the sequel was one of those movies that were amazingly good for the third version. Adult and kids costumes are available for all of the tried and true characters such as Woody, Buzz Light Year, Jesse and Mr. Potato Head. Other Toy Story 3 costumes can be found for the new crew such as Barbie and Ken and the evil Lots O' Huggin' Bear.

Alice in Wonderland: This childhood tale gets a new twist thanks to 3D effects and director Tim Burton's oddly dark touch. Fall down a rabbit hole and see the world in a whole new way in the signature Alice costume or in the crazy and colorful Mad Hatter costume similar to the one worn by actor Johnny Depp.

Watch some of the other 3D movies from 2010 and maybe you'll get even more ideas for Halloween costumes. Other highlights from the list which has a little something for everyone include Despicable Me, Megamind, Tangled, Tron, Shrek Forever After, Cash of the Titans, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Last Airbender, Saw 3D, and Resident Evil: Afterlife.
